By creating ‘A home away from home’ we selflessly strive to make sure that no child suffering from cancer is left untreated and gets the best chance of a complete recovery.
St. Judes’ latest initiative,, St. Judes for Life (SJFL), Founded in Memory of Mrs. Rani Vicaji makes sure that even these survivors, referred to as Judians, have been treated successfully and are provided support throughout their lives so that they can be healthy, happy, and successful. can lead happy and confident lives.
“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.”

Amongst many such young Judians is 15 year old Priti Kuiry. Priti became a part of St. Judes family in December 2017 when she was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma.
Ewing’s sarcoma is an extremely rare form of Cancer (Fewer than 5 thousand cases per year in India). It affects the bones usually starting from the legs, pelvis bones, and arms. Ewing’s sarcoma typically occurs in children and young adults.
Priti is a very talented dancer. Overcoming many adversities during her battle with the disease and the hindrance of a prosthetic leg, she has developed an enthusiastic zest towards following her passion and love for dance. She recently displayed her skills when she gave a rousing performance at a program organised to commemorate International Child Cancer Day. Helmed by the Rotary Club from Saroj Gupta Cancer Centre & Research Institute, Kolkata, the event saw Priti and her fellow performers entertain the audience by dancing to the tunes of versatile singer Usha Uthup. Usha Uthup also sang melodies for all the survivors later. Popular Bengali actress, Rituparna Sengupta, who was also present at the event, joined Priti Kuiry in her dance performance. It was heartening to see such distinguished personalities come forward to encourage and support these childhood cancer survivors and also create awareness of the disease.
With the help and support of our partners and people like YOU, we are doing the best we can to create a difference in the lives of these young cancer warriors. Let us come together in our quest to battle this fatal disease. Any donation or assistance will go a long way in giving these children a happy healthy life.
