St Judes for Life

(Founded in Memory of Mrs. Rani Vicaji)

Our Initiative

We live by the credo –
‘Once a St. Jude’s child, always a St. Jude’s child.’

We at St. Judes believe that every cancer affected child has the right to fulfill his/her aspirations and as such keeping into consideration this vision in mind, we have established a new vertical – St. Judes for Life in the memory of Mrs. Rani Vicaji.

It ensures that Judians who have won the battle against cancer are able to fulfill their potential. These children come from underprivileged families who make great sacrifices to ensure that the child is treated successfully for cancer.

With this initiative, we as an organisation have learnt about several new challenges cancer-affected children face while they try to become self-reliant and independent. To put an end to this, our initiative, St. Judes for Life (Founded in Memory of Mrs. Rani Vicaji) will continue to provide support to Judians as the need arises.

Vision

To provide support and guidance to the cancer affected children throughout their lives and to help them reach their potential and fulfill their aspirations.
We at St. Jude are of a firm belief that the cancer affected children nurtured at our Centres are exceptionally brave and special and we foster a lifelong bond with them. We aim to be the go-to-organisation for these cancer affected children, where St. Judes for Life will always be available in times of need.

Mission

To provide appropriate intervention to the cancer affected children, directly or through experienced partners, to support, mentor and enable them to become upright contributing members of the society.
We at St. Jude ensure that timely and appropriate assistance is available to our alumni to complete their education, maintain good health and lead successful lives. We see to it that from the time of their enrolment on completing five years since diagnosis of cancer, till they are independent and self-sufficient, St. Jude offers them all the necessary help and support during and after their cancer treatment.

Our Beneficiaries

St. Judes’ alumni – known as Judians – who have completed five years from the date of diagnosis and have recovered after treatment, are eligible to be enrolled in St. Judes for Life (Founded in Memory of Mrs. Rani Vicaji).
Their ages range from six years to the mid-20s. Judians who stayed during the early years of the centres are now teenagers and young adults on the threshold of higher education and careers. Moreover, the programme provides customised support to Judians from the age of six as required.
Every time a child crosses the five-year mark since his/her cancer diagnosis and is termed as a survivor, we enroll the child into the programme and provide them with all the support they need just like the facilities provided to them at our centres during the difficult period of cancer treatment.
