Among India’s Top 10 NGOs – St Judes Does It Again!

Childhood Cancer affects not just the children diagnosed with it but also their families, who have to endure many hardships during this challenging time. While lack of finances can deprive them of basic amenities such as hygienic accommodation, proper nutrition and holistic care, emotional distress at this time can lead to depression and anxiety.

We at St Jude India Childcare Center  strives to ensure that every child gets the best chance to beat cancer by supplementing their treatment with the proper care and support. We give the families a ‘home away from home’ by providing hygienic accommodation with clean bathrooms and toilets, proper nutrition, counselling, and an environment for progressive and successful healing. With our holistic approach, St Judes makes sure children can fight the disease better, and restored their health.

We started in 2006 when eight children, and their families, were cared for at our first centre in Mumbai. Today, we take immense pride in serving 492 families across nine Indian cities. Our 39 centres are located in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Vellore and Varanasi.

No surprise then that we have yet again been recognised among “India’s top 10 best NGOs to work for in 2022.” The recognition comes from Great Place to Work – the global authority in creating, assessing and identifying the best workplaces worldwide.

We have now received this coveted recognition four times in a row! This year, we have also been recognised amongst the top 50 mid-size ‘India’s best workplaces for women in 2022’ by the Great Place to Work Institute.

Teamwork, and the common goal of ensuring that every child in our care gets equal attention and support, are the core reasons for making this possible.

Each of our centres is manned by a diligent team that works selflessly to ensure smooth and successful childhood cancer treatment. Besides management, our teams include housekeeping staff ensure that our centres are well maintained, drivers help get families to and from the hospital for treatment and trained counsellors who guide and support our young patients and their families.

We are also very grateful to our numerous health partners, activity partners, volunteers, donors and well-wishers who enable us to care for and support our families. Their generosity ensures we can bring back smiles on the faces of our brave cancer warriors and their families.

Together we can and together we will!
